HOREY-BECKMAN AWARDS 2009

The annual Horey-Beckman Awardees have been selected for 2009.  These awards are given each year to democrats who have been loyal servants of the party and worked diligently for the good of all.  Two people are chosen, one from within the Fredonia-Pomfret organization and one who is not currently a member.  This year the local winner is Margaret Valone who has, for decades, given of herself above and beyond the call of duty, often when it was not considered popular or advantageous to do so.  The "outside" winner is Carmella Gens who for most of her life was a Fredonia resident and member of the F-P Dems.  She is now retired and living in Florida.  She was always active and helpful to the Democratic Party and, most recently, proudly guided our candidates through 1 Temple Square where she was a resident.

Our congratulations go out to Margaret and Carmella.
