GARY DAMICO

Gary was first elected to the Fredonia Village Board in 2001 and is now in his second term.  Born in Dunkirk, Mr. Damico has been a resident of Fredonia for 31 years and an active member of both communities.  Mr. Damico's past involvement includes President of both Dunkirk and Fredonia Chambers of Commerce, Board Member Fredonia Farm Festival, Board member Dunkirk Local Development corp., Chairman Chautauqua County Small Business Advisory Board.  Currently Mr. Damico is serving as President of Dunkirk Free Library, Board of Directors Dunkirk Chamber of Commerce, Treasurer Chautauqua Multiuse Development Committee, and Co-Chairs the shared public works committee between Dunkirk and Fredonia looking to build a new Joint Police Department.

In 1992 Mr. Damico received the Fredonia State Business Club, "Person of the Year Award".

A successful Businessman, Mr. Damico served as Manager and then owner operator of Freshmart Supermarket in Fredonia.  Currently he is the co-owner of P&G Foods in Dunkirk with his wife Patricia.  In 2003, the Damico's were honored by the Dunkirk Chamber of Commerce with the "Business Achievement Award".

Mr. Damico and his wife Patricia have three children:  Brandi, a SUNY Fredonia Graduate is a Kindegarten Teacher in the Dunkirk School System, Joshua is a Supervisor for GEICO Insurance and lives in Lockport, N.Y., and Michael is in his second year at SUNY Fredonia.
